Music Mondays: Everybody Plays The Fool

This song couldn’t be more fitting for today for reasons I’m not ready to divulge just yet, but hopefully in the near future. And sure, I could go with a Christmas song but it’s still a week away. Besides, I might just upload some of my favorite Christmas songs throughout the week. Be prepared for a lot of Nat King Cole.

First released in 1972 by The Main Ingredient whose frontman was Cuba Gooding (Sr., not Jr.). It was written by J.R. Bailey, Rudy Clark and Ken Williams and was nominated for a Grammy in 1973 in the Best R&B Song category.

It’s the truth. There’s no exception to the rule. The lyrics are so honest. And I dig it. I hope you do, too. Enjoy.
